Alberta Advantage Immigration Program officials report that 1,382 provincial nomination spaces remain in Alberta’s 2026 allocation, with 1,092 applications to be processed in the program’s September 23, 2026 update.

The update also shows that Alberta has issued 5,221 nominations against a 2026 allocation of 6,603.

AAIP separately reports 217 entrepreneur-stream business applications in process. That figure is presented under a separate entrepreneur-stream measure and should not be added to the 1,092 applications in the program’s overall processing summary.

The program cautions that allocation figures, spaces remaining and application-processing totals may change without notice.

AAIP has issued 5,221 nominations in 2026

The 2026 allocation for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program is divided among several worker streams, health-care pathways, Alberta Express Entry pathways and entrepreneur streams.

The remaining spaces are not distributed evenly across all pathways.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program says it may redistribute allocations to other streams or pathways at any time.

For 2026, the program is prioritizing worker-stream draws and nominations linked to health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture and communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream.

AAIP describes those sectors as its primary focus areas for the year, but says the list is not exhaustive.

Alberta Opportunity Stream has the largest allocation

The Alberta Opportunity Stream has a 2026 allocation of 3,562 nominations.

AAIP reports that 2,911 nominations have been issued through the stream, leaving 651 spaces.

The stream has 464 applications to be processed and is currently assessing applications received on or before June 17, 2026.

That processing date excludes applicants who received a work permit support letter under the temporary public policy for prospective Provincial Nominee Program candidates.

Processing figures vary by AAIP pathway

The Rural Renewal Stream has 317 nomination spaces remaining from a 2026 allocation of 1,057.

AAIP lists 44 Rural Renewal Stream applications to be processed and says it is currently assessing applications received on or before August 17, 2026.

The program warns that Rural Renewal processing information is an estimate and may vary based on application volumes from designated communities.

The Tourism and Hospitality Stream has issued 141 nominations from an allocation of 156, leaving 15 spaces.

Fewer than 10 Tourism and Hospitality applications are listed for processing, with applications received on or before July 27, 2026 currently under assessment.

The Dedicated Health Care Pathways have issued 331 nominations from an allocation of 518.

Those pathways have 187 spaces remaining and 30 applications to be processed.

AAIP says it is currently assessing Dedicated Health Care Pathway applications received on or before August 29, 2026.

Alberta Express Entry pathways have 182 spaces remaining

The Alberta Express Entry Stream includes separate allocations for the Accelerated Tech Pathway, the Law Enforcement Pathway and priority-sector draws or other initiatives.

The Accelerated Tech Pathway has a 2026 allocation of 619 nominations.

AAIP reports 485 nominations issued, 134 spaces remaining and 149 applications to be processed through that pathway.

The program is currently assessing Accelerated Tech Pathway applications received on or before June 23, 2026.

The Law Enforcement Pathway has an allocation of 12 nominations.

Fewer than 10 nominations have been issued and fewer than 10 applications are listed as being processed.

AAIP does not provide a current processing date or a stated number of remaining spaces for the Law Enforcement Pathway.

Priority-sector draws and other initiatives have an allocation of 619 nominations.

That group has issued 571 nominations, leaving 48 spaces, with 187 applications to be processed.

AAIP is currently assessing applications received on or before June 24, 2026 for those initiatives.

Entrepreneur streams have 25 spaces remaining

AAIP reports that the entrepreneur streams have a 2026 nomination allocation of 60.

The streams have issued 35 nominations, leaving 25 spaces, and have 217 business applications in process at varying stages of processing.

AAIP says business applications are evaluated upon receipt. Timelines vary because applications move through several stages of review and require comprehensive documentation and verification.

AAIP expression-of-interest pool contains 35,596 candidates

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program reports 35,596 expressions of interest currently in the worker selection pool.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounts for the largest portion, with 22,315 expressions of interest.

The Dedicated Health Care Pathways have 1,222 expressions of interest, while the Rural Renewal Stream has 1,736.

The Tourism and Hospitality Stream has 3,275 expressions of interest.

Within the Alberta Express Entry Stream, the Accelerated Tech Pathway has 1,992 expressions of interest, the Law Enforcement Pathway has 45 and priority-sector draws or other initiatives have 5,011.

AAIP says candidates may be invited to apply to a different stream or pathway from the one identified in their expression of interest.

The program also says an expression-of-interest score is not the only factor used to select candidates for invitations.

AAIP considers information in worker expressions of interest to address program priorities and does not disclose recent draw parameters to protect program integrity.

September 2026 AAIP draws included multiple pathways

The latest listed draw took place on September 23, 2026, when the Alberta Opportunity Stream issued 113 invitations to candidates with a minimum score of 58.

On September 22, the Accelerated Tech Pathway issued 100 invitations at a minimum score of 59.

The Law Enforcement Pathway issued fewer than 10 invitations on September 21, with a minimum score of 49.

Other September draws included health-care, agriculture, manufacturing and Dedicated Health Care Pathway invitations.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program says draws are not regularly scheduled and are conducted as needed to address sector needs and provincial priorities.

Additional federal spaces cover physicians and Francophones

Separate federal immigration spaces are available across provincial nominee programs for practice-ready physicians and Francophones in Canada or abroad.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program says up to 10,000 spaces are available across all provincial nominee programs for this initiative.

A qualifying AAIP nomination issued in 2026 for a physician or Francophone will not count toward Alberta’s 6,603 allocation.

Eligible physicians must be in NOC 31100, 31101 or 31102 and be practice-ready under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway requirements.

Francophone candidates may work in any AAIP-eligible NOC and must meet CLB or NCLC 5 in French in all four language competencies.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program reports 50 physician nominations and 12 Francophone nominations under the additional federal spaces initiative so far in 2026.

The initiative does not create new AAIP streams or pathways, and existing stream requirements continue to apply.

What applicants should understand from the update

The processing tables show the applications AAIP says it is currently assessing, but they do not guarantee a decision date for an individual file.

Applicants should submit all documents required by the applicable checklist because missing information may affect processing while AAIP seeks clarification.

Applicants should also distinguish between an expression of interest, an invitation to apply, a provincial nomination and permanent residence approval.

A nomination or invitation from Alberta is not the same as a final permanent residence decision by the federal government.
