IRCC Is Now Sending PGP 2023 Sponsorship Invitations

The IRCC has begun sending the PGP 2023 sponsorship (parents and grandparents) invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) as of October 10.
The sponsors who expressed interest in 2020 will start receiving these invitations to apply for permanent residency today.
Over the course of the following two weeks, the sponsors will be asked to file an application for PR on behalf of their parents and/or grandparents.
In order to reach its target of obtaining up to 15,000 completed applications, IRCC plans to send out 24,200 invitations in total to potential sponsors.

Those who completed an interest-to-sponsor form in 2020 will now need to watch their email for an application invitation from the IRCC.
Although this is welcome news for 2020 sponsors who expressed interest in relocating their parents or grandparents to Canada, more Canadians are grumbling about not being given a fair opportunity to apply for permanent residence for their elderly relatives since 2020.

Application Process for PGP 2023 sponsorship

You will need to submit two applications if you are invited to apply (ITA) for permanent residency; application for sponsorship and an application for permanent residency.
The day your parent(s) or grandparent(s) become a permanent resident of Canada marks the effective date of the undertaking agreement that sponsors must sign if the IRCC accepts both of your applications.
